ohh my I remember collars, the dresses my mother made for me all had those button-on collars, so they could be changed every other day. I guess they had the covered function of a bib. I only had one alce collar for special ocacsion else it was mostly white or other solid cotton fabric, though they did have vary in shape a bit. But I'm not sure if I would want to go back to that time. I like my jeans.
