honeymooning

We've been and gone on our honeymoon. It went so fast! Honeymooning is fun! We caught the ferry across the bay to the Mornington Peninsula. We stayed in a fancy pants B&B, which is also a culinary retreat, we drank lots of champagne, ate some amazing food and relaxed at the Peninsula Hot Springs. We had the most perfect honeymoon weather... rain, rain, hail and thunder! We had been told that this was the best weather to enjoy the hot springs in. I don't think I fully believed everyone until I had experienced it myself. Bathing in a 40 degree hot bath while the cool rain is falling on you really is an amazing experience. It was freezing whilst jumping in and out of the different baths but totally worth it! T'was also perfect weather for lazing by the open fire, romantically gazing into each others eyes. It was so nice to have some one on one time with my HUSBAND and to just relax after the mayhem of the wedding. We even had the whole B&B to ourselves! I did have a giggle at us though. We stayed at a pretty fancy place and dined at some pretty fancy restaurants, bathed at a very fancy day spa and our first stop of the trip (after coffee) was a cute little toy shop then the local opshops! Who can resist, hey?

Some favourites from our trip:

*Peninsula Hot Springs - it's true, go on a cold wet day if you can! We spent almost 7 hours there getting massages, bathing and eating. Pure indulgence, do it!
*Red Hill Brewery - there are so many wineries in the area but this is a must! Great food, beer and cider. They actually grown their own hops too!
*Main Ridge Dairy - goats cheese... yummo!!
*Two Buoys - awesome little tapas bar, some of the best food we had on our trip!

xx
